Pete Upton was appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Community Development Advisory Council on Jan. 1, 2022. Upton is the executive director of Native360 Loan Fund (N360), a certified Native CDFI that focuses on entrepreneurship, consumer lending, small business lending, and home improvement / home mortgages. Upton is an enrolled member of the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska. Native360 is a Native CDFI serving the states of Nebraska, Iowa, southeast South Dakota and northeast Kansas.

Upton has served as board chair for the Native CDFI Network since 2016. He is currently serving as the Native CDFI Network interim executive director as the Network searches for a permanent executive director. In 2021, Upton was appointed to the Consumer Advisory Board of the Consumer Protection Finance Bureau.

Upton is a graduate of the NeighborWorks Achieving Excellence Program, conducted in collaboration with Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, and Native CDFI Network Institute’s leadership cohort in collaboration with Harvard Professor Marshall Ganz.
