Jim Thorpen was appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City Economic Advisory Council on Jan. 1, 2020. He is the vice president of finance, secretary and treasurer for the Wyoming Machinery Co., an authorized Caterpillar dealer.

He previously worked in the investment industry at Janus Funds and a Raymond James broker/dealer. He has been involved with the local United Way and is on the foundation board of the local community college.

He received an MBA from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo and his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado.
