Jade Piros de Carvalho was appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Community Development Advisory Council on Jan. 1, 2024. Piros de Carvalho serves as Kansas director of broadband development, working to ensure that all Kansans can live, work, learn and compete in a global economy regardless of where they live by improving universal access to quality, affordable and reliable broadband.

Previously, Piros de Carvalho served as director of industry and community relations for Idea Tek, advocating for broadband expansion policy. Piros de Carvalho served on the city council of Hutchinson, Kansas, from April 2013-February 2023, including three terms as mayor.

She holds a bachelor’s in philosophy from Wichita State University and a master’s in public affairs - public policy from the University of Missouri.
